Big White Mountain’s Winter Season
Big White Mountain is home to 118 designated trails and 27 unnamed trails that are built for a variety of skill levels. The Big White Ski Resort has 13 lifts including 4 high-speed quad chairs and an 8 passenger high-speed gondola.

Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides
It’s time to add a little romance to your holiday at Big White Mountain. When you take a horse-drawn sleigh ride, you’ll feel like you’re in the middle of a movie. Imagine you and your loved one on the sleigh, cozied up with a blanket, snow falling and your sleigh riding through a winter wonderland. Complete bliss and the perfect date night.
Strap on those crampons and grab an ice axe. Have your try at the ice climbing wall at Big White Ski Resort. This impressive 60-foot ice tower is both for the kids and the adults. Watch your kids conquer their fears by reaching the top of the tower or have a little friendly competition with your friend to see who can get the furthest the fastest.
A favourite winter activity in Canada is always ice skating. Rent some ice skates and take a spin around Canada’s highest skating rink. Whether you’re holding hands with a loved one or chasing the puck around with your kids, there’s room for everyone on this rink. It’s the same size as an Olympic Hockey rink! There are hot fires surrounding the rink for those who would just rather watch and stay warm too.
Kelowna Rockets Hockey
Just because you’re on vacation at Big White Mountain doesn’t mean you have to stay on the mountain the whole time! With Kelowna being less than an hour away, it’s a great idea to take in some Kelowna Rockets hockey action while you’re here. Big White Mountain is able to organize tickets and transport, all you need is your cheering voice.
Snowmobiling is a fun activity and kids shouldn’t have to miss out on the action. Mini-Z miniature snowmobiles are great fun for all the kids. Your kids will get to experience the thrill of snowmobiling on a track built just for them at Big White mountain!
Tubing isn’t just for the summer and on the water. At Big White Mountain, there’s a winter tube park located in the Happy Valley Adventure Centre. Get up to the top, hop on your tube and scoot yourself to the edge and start flying down the hill! Don’t forget to hold on while going down the hill, you’ll go faster than you think.
It’s time to get off the beaten track and enjoy the spectacular backcountry with a guided snowshoe tour. One of the best parts of going snowshoeing is being able to shut off, unplug and enjoy the beautiful nature around you. Hear the snow crunch under your feet, feel the brisk air on your face and watch for the wildlife. Be sure to listen to the silence and take it all in.

Big White Mountain’s Spring Season
The mountain stays open until March/April, so if you’re interested in the spring slopes, you’re in luck! There are many other things to do in the spring at Big White mountain too.
Horse Back Riding
If you’ve always wanted to ride a horse into the sunset, now is your chance. The spring is beautiful on the mountain with the leaves turning green, the flowers blooming and the snow leaving the mountain tops. A perfect location for a horseback ride.
There are many local things you can do in the spring in the Okanagan Valley. Whether it’s walking around Waterfront park or heading out on Okanagan Lake, there’s something for everyone. If the sun is behind the clouds, try out Kelowna’s EXIT Escape Games or the H20 Adventure + Fitness Centre for some fun.
Oyama Zipline Forest Adventure
If you and your family are looking for a fun afternoon, try out the zipline in Oyama! Both you and your children will be wanting to go on it for a second time. You can see the Okanagan views from above.
Hiking on the Mountain
The spring is the perfect time to adventure out of the chalet and to see what’s around you. Take in the change of seasons, go on the hunt for the first signs of wildflowers.
